barefoot

We've been going barefoot the past couple of days. I love the warmth, LOVE IT! Seth is teething and so has become quite unbearable at times. Naomi continues to be a very happy baby. Ethan is growing and learning so much. Seth is taking in all that Ethan is saying, who is taking in all we are saying.

Ethan loves the concept that we are a family, he loves the days the most that we are all home and dada doesn't go to work. We had a relaxing weekend, lots of time outside. I look forward to finding more outdoor activities and making the most of the summer days. Wooo hoo, here we come Spring!

full of laughter

Naomi is not only a pleasant baby she is full of laughter. Today I was holding her while the boys had a snack. Seth was tipping his head back drinking his cup, this action momentarily hid his face from Naomi. When he reappeared from behind his cup Naomi laughed. Seth worked this out quickly, and started playing boo while he drank. She giggled and giggled and giggled. Then she couldn't take her eyes off of Seth and whatever he did was the funniest thing that Naomi had ever seen.

I'll be curious to see if Seth is the a little clown. Today Ethan fell over and after Ethan had stopped crying from his small tumble, Seth came in and said "Ethan, fall" and then Seth laid on the ground re-enacting Ethan falling.

I'll try and get some photos of them soon to post, I've gotten out of the habit the past few days.

2 thumbs up

Seth and Naomi had their Maternal Child and Health Nurse check today. They passed with flying colors. Seth is much more wary these days of strangers, so he wasn't thrilled about getting nudie from waste down for part of the health check. Other than both Seth and Naomi both deciding to cry at the same time (Seth probably set off Naomi) the appointment went well.

All are sleeping at the moment. A few moments of quiet, ahhhh.

the day of the week is monday

It was sunny today. The boys were outside playing by 10am. We took a short walk to the park where Ethan and Seth played happily for awhile. After walking home we ate lunch in the sun. I asked Ethan if he had done poo's, he said no, then turned around pointing his bum at me and said "wanna look?".

I caught Seth playing peek-a-boo with Naomi. Naomi was giggling, and giggling. Seth was too.

This evening Ethan decided he was farmer Joe. Seth was saying to him "Hi Joe!". Ethan named Seth farmer Elephant, because Seth had an Elephant in his hand. Not a real one obviously, a little toy one.

The days are slipping by way too fast.

concepts

Ethan has been talking more and more. I can tell that he is trying to understand his world around him and how he fits into it. He's recently said a couple of really cute things and one that has left me thinking. The first thing he told me was that when he gets bigger he's going to change Seth's nappy. I tried to explain to him that Seth would be bigger too, and wouldn't need his nappy changed, but that maybe he could change his own son's nappy. So then later he told me that when he gets big he's going to have a baby in his tummy and be a Dada.

Then last night after we finished reading the Bible together, Ethan said to Terry and I that he was going to live in the Bible. Terry said back to him that that was good, we should all live in the Bible. I agree.

not thinking

Ethan's way of saying "I don't know" is to say "I'm not thinking". I wonder who he got that from? Maybe it wasn't directly from his gpa, but sure reminds me of him.

4 to 1

We had some friends over for dinner last night. The dad is studying to be a school teacher. In his behavioral class he learned that it is common for parents to reprimand 4 times to 1 encouragement. If the children are being good, then we leave them to themselves and then once they holler or misbehave we are right in there correcting them. My friend was saying that in their family they are trying to reverse that, 4 positives to 1 correction. I too want to be mindful of this, and did so today with the boys. It's good for the boys and good for me. Cool lesson.

teaser

The boys got haircuts yesterday. I still haven't taken their photo to show you. They look a bit shorn, but it will grow out a bit and I think look a bit nicer. I asked for short, next time I think I'll go for a bit of a longer look to start out with. Seth looks more like a little boy to me now though.

Naomi was up every 2 hours last night. YIKES. Plan of action must be taken to stop the madness. I am exhausted. Thinking over and making that plan, I'll let you know once I've got it settled.

We had a BUSY day today, but it was nice. Friends over for morning play and lunch. Plus an electrician, a helper dude (don't know his trade) and a builder. All to put in our new heater, which by the way, is AWESOME. Gpa and Gma missed out on the good heating that's for sure.

It was a bit of a fiasco getting the details sorted for the heater/air con installation, but thankfully all three of the men who were here today at various times were very nice and helpful.

Must go to bed....good night.

playing together

We had a quiet day at home today. The events of the day included playing outside, taking a mid-day bath and playing with ice, which turned out to be a lesson in the concept of melting. The boys both helped mama with emptying the dishwasher, cleaning the floors, and Ethan helped make dinner (chef's salad). I even made it to the grocery store on my "normal" (whatever that means) night and got to catch up with Jayne.

Ethan and Seth played for a long time (in toddler terms) with the block town. Naomi could only be an onlooker, but it's all going so crazy fast, and soon enough she too will be joining in with her brothers.

new photo album

I've added a few new links on this page. Look to the right. Wanted to highlight this one. It's our new photo web album.

Naomi got her 4 month shots yesterday. It's left her a bit under the weather today. Nothing serious, just a little grumpy. It's cold here, very cold but sunny. So thankful for Saturdays and days where we get to spend together as the five of us.

wrong forecast

It's 11 am and I've changed 5 pooey nappies. They've only been awake since 7.30am, so that is more than one an hour. When I spoke with gma and gpa at 9am I told them that it had started off as a morning of poop, but that things were going to clear up. I was wrong, there have been two more storms since then. HOPEFULLY, we can now predict clearer (cleaner) nappies.

update: 5 + 1 as of 2 pm
update2: + 1 more for a total of 7 (all poos) by 3 pm
